After many months of planning, development, and coordination, the Helium Network will begin migrating to the Solana Blockchain starting today, Tuesday, April 18, 2023 5:00 PM. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this colossal effort. During this time, the Helium Blockchain will be halted and the chain state will be moved to Solana. Users will not be able to interact with Helium tokens until we are live on Solana (estimated for Wednesday, April 19, 2023 5:00 PM, or roughly 1 day after the start of the migration).
No actions need to be taken by Hotspot Owners or token holders before or during the migration. Tokens remain safe and can be accessed at any time after the migration is complete. All users of the outgoing Helium Hotspot App (blue icon) should have migrated to the open-source Wallet App (black icon) by now.
The following processes are unaffected and will continue during the migration:
Proof-of-Coverage (Hotspot beaconing and witnessing)
Network Data Transfer (note: you will be rewarded for activity during the Transition Period, but you will not be able to claim the rewards until after.)
The following processes will be inaccessible until Helium is live on Solana:
Token transfers and payments
Burning HNT for Data Credits
Onboarding new Hotspots
Reasserting Hotspots or changing antenna details
Receiving token rewards for Proof-of-Coverage and Data Transfer
Hotspot diagnostics information may be affected or inaccurate
Helium Explorer and other Helium data sources will not show live data.
Do not transfer your Hotspot to your Hotspot’s address
Please be aware that, for the migration to Solana, you do NOT need to transfer your Hotspot to another account.

Landrush
For the first ten days after Helium's migration onto Solana, there will be a 3x multiplier bonus for new veHNT stakers. This is called the "Landrush" multiplier. Stakers are only eligible to receive this veHNT bonus during the initial ten-day Landrush period. HNT staked after this period will receive veHNT at the normal rate with no multiplier.
This landrush period will end at 23:59:59 UTC on April 28, 2023 or Saturday, April 29, 2023 12:59 AM in your device’s local time.
Helium Wallet App Users
If you’re using the black Helium Wallet app, you’re all set. Just make sure that you’re on the most up-to-date version and have imported your Helium wallet into the app. You don’t need to do anything else. The Helium Wallet app will take care of the token access process automatically for you after the migration. Hotspot management can be done using the management app corresponding to your Hotspot’s brand, which will work together with the Helium Wallet app.

Exchange users
If you hold HNT on an exchange, please confirm that they have announced that they will support the Helium Network’s migration and can safely custody your tokens during the process. Several exchanges have already announced that they will support the Helium Network migration, including Bybit, Crypto.com, Gate.io, KuCoin, and OKX.

This has been an incredible effort by Helium Core Devs, Manufacturers, HIP Authors and Voters, Hotspot Owners, and the community at large. The migration to Solana is one of the most significant changes impacting the Helium Network. It is an upgrade that brings more scalability, composability, speed, and lower transaction costs. This is just the beginning for Helium on Solana!
Once again, most users do NOT need to do anything right now.
